All your bulk beef questions answered ...
Buying in bulk is always the best value for your dollar! This is because you get all of your cuts for the same LOW price. That means that your Filet Mignon, Rib Eye's and Prime Rib costs the same as your Ground Beef! That's a sweet deal baby!
Also, BIGGER volumes mean better pricing. The bigger your order the bigger your savings! You can always get together with friends or family to take advantage of the volume discounts.
All great questions ... that's why I created this handy dandy chart to answer them! 😊
Once you place your order we will be in touch to give you an approximate harvest & delivery date. The majority of our beef are harvested in late summer, fall and through to mid winter. Harvest dates are booked by 6S a year in advance but due to staffing complications at the abattoir and the butcher, sometimes these dates are bumped. Unfortunately we have no control over this situation and it sometimes means we have to delay harvest & delivery for some customers. If this happens we will inform you as soon as we know and supply you with a new estimated harvest/delivery date.
Bringing a beef animal to proper finish on grass forages alone is both art and science. It is a challenging endeavour in our Northern climate. We also have a limited supply of beef animals that we finish on grass each year. As such, we recommend reserving yours as early as possible. We operate on a first come, first served basis so you'll want to speak for yours asap so you don't miss out!
When you purchase a Custom Cut Side or Whole Beef you get your meat cut to your exact specifications. Below is our Beef Cutting Instructions Sheet to show you which cuts you can choose from each area of the animal. You also get to choose your steak thickness, package sizing, roast size, etc.
The quantity of each cut will vary due to the weight of the animal, the steak thickness you select and the size of roasts you select.
For sure! However the cuts, steak thickness, size of roasts, and packaging sizes cannot vary between the order parties for a Quarter, Half or Whole Beef order.
We accept cash and e-transfer as payment.
Your beef will be billed based on the hot hanging weight of the animal after harvest. The average hot hanging weight of a side of beef is 300-350lbs. When you purchase bulk beef you have two costs: the beef and the processing. Your beef will be billed as follows:
Quarter Beef $6.50/lb + $1.20/lb processing
Half Beef $6.25/lb = $1.20/lb processing
Whole Beef $6.00/lb = $1.20/lb processing
When you reserve your beef you will pay an upfront non-refundable deposit. ($500 for a Quarter, $1000 for a 1/2, $2000 for a Whole) Your beef will only be reserved for you once the deposit has been received.
The balance of your order will be due at delivery. Final costs will vary as they are dependent upon the hanging weight of your animal. Typically you can expect a Quarter Beef to range from $980-$1200. A Half Beef to range from $1960-$2400. And a Whole Beef to range from $3900-$4800.
*Prices are subject to change without notice.
